10. Hate

What we call hate, is a very powerful emotion. It is the polar opposite of love, which is also a very powerful emotion. One might say that, these two are in fact the most powerful of all emotions. While we all think they are so different, but they have two big similarities. That both require you have a very extreme feeling or view of a certain person or thing. They also both create a drive or motivation in people, to act out on those emotions, they are both powerful motivators. Humans are not very good at projecting emotion, but it seems that the major exception is hate, which humans excel at projecting .

In the case with hate, humans though out history have become accustomed to hate. As much as we are taught to avoid hatred, subconsciously we need it.. Or did need it. Early humans used hate and anger, as power survival tools. They made them aggressive and capable fighters, especially against rival tribes. If you must do battle to the death with another group or tribe, you know they intend to take your life, and you hate them for it. No battle or wars were fought with combatants that didn't have almost absolute hate for each other. Another fact is that negative emotions, especially hate, gives a very potent high in people. Why do you think people are so negative all the time for? It feels good. Not just physically, but mentally as well. Hate justifies our self righteous views, we hate others simply because they are bad and we are good. Let me put it this way, think of the one person you dislike or hate the most. Don't act like you don't hate anyone, everyone hates at least one person deep inside. Now think of that person.. Wouldn't you say that person is mean? Yes. That they are ugly? Yes. That they are evil? Yes. That the world would be completely better off with out them? Hell yes! Now ask yourself.. Are you mean, ugly, evil, or a blight on the world? No, of course not. You are not a terrible person at all, that person you hate in particular IS. But it is not all your fault.

The world and society in general, feeds on your hate. So many despicable things have happened because of one or more persons hate. But the worse part is, everyone feels their hate is right and true. Guess what? That person you hate, might hate you as well. Ask them the exact same questions above in the last paragraph, and they will answer the exact same thing about you. That's the twisted irony of it all, we all hate each other and have our own perverted reasons why, to justify it. It will take a long time for humanity to abandon the deeply ingrained poisonous hatred it has. It will only be removed like the cancer it is, when we stop being divided as brothers and sisters, and start being united. We no longer truly need it anymore for survival, in fact it is only killing us now. We all can start working on that, but at least know this comfort. Even with all the hate in the world, there is still so much love as well.
