Full Review: So my dear friend Nicole has been an accomplished artist for quite some time, and the owner of her own small business and brand. I decided I wanted to see her create some art, inspired by my blogging work. I contacted her and pitched the idea of me reviewing an art piece she made for me, she was more then excited and enthusiastic about the idea! Thus we began my third ever collaboration and partnership, I was pumped to get started! I even had the perfect art idea in mind! As I’m sure all my dear readers know, I’m very much fascinated and enthralled in the concept of yin and yang, light and darkness, angel and madman, the right hand of mercy and the left hand of darkness.. Two opposing forces, opposites that are both two sides of the same coin. It’s practically the entire theme of my blog… Of who I am. So when she asked what kinda art I wanted the piece to be about, I just had to make my art choice related to that concept! I told her I wanted a right hand of light and left hand of darkness, reaching towards each other with a descending white beam above. I wanted it to be EPIC, and that is what I got! But I’m getting ahead of myself.. Allow me to explain the process step by step, though there is not many to it.

After telling her the type of art that I wanted and throughly discussing the way I wanted it and all the fine details, she got to work. Now one thing to keep in mind, is that she is a widow’d mother and caretaker of her son.. So it goes without saying that she is going to be busy, if not incredibly busy. You may or may not experience delays and have to wait, but again its not too unreasonable considering her circumstances. Its just something to keep in mind, she was respectful enough to let me know that and I was completely understanding about it.. There was no huge rush.

During the process of her making the art, she would occasionally text me previews and updates about the art.. Asking me questions about how it looks so far and if there needs to be any changes or alteration, I definitely appreciated that. From what she was showing me, she was 90% on the dot of what I wanted! I had very few requests for how to alter it, and the few I did she was happy to implement. After sometime, she messaged me to let me know she was complete! I was eager to see how it looked and to get my hands on it! She sent me a picture of how it looked and I was quite pleased, it was pretty much 90% or more of how I imagined it! But I can only be truly satisfied by having the art piece in my hands.. The very hands she was painting, metaphorically of course haha. But anyways, now all that was left was to get it to me.

So in terms of getting the product to her customers, Nicole has two ways. She either ships them out of they live far or if just prefer that way for whatever reason(they pay shipping). Or she will meet up with you if you live close by and complete the transaction there. In our case, we are good friends so we decided to make a hang out day of it and of course for her to hand me the art piece too. We planned the day and made it happen, we had a wonderful day of quality time and discussing this very review you are reading. She handed me the art in a really nice quality gift bag, which I thought was a nice touch and as well as her business card, I liked that. While talking about our deal, She was again very understanding and eager to see how the review would come out! I just told her I had to be honest, but I would be fair and reasonable about.. But let me reiterate, honesty is the most important thing about any review. She accepted that fact whole heartedly. Anyways, after our fun hang out day! We all went home and I commenced my review of the art piece.

First off I noticed she used a 8x10 Paint canvas, a solid piece and sturdy one at that. Usually 8x10 is the normal size most people use for making art commissions. The back is reinforced with wood, and the material is high quality and effective for what it is for. Looking at the art itself, it was simply astounding. Seeing it right in front of my face, it seems so much more bigger and brighter. I could see the right hand of Mercy and the left hand of Darkness, truly for all they are. They popped out, they looked alive, they looked like they were going to come out of the canvas itself. The paint she used was semi shiny and thick, yet slick in its appearance. The colors she used so accurately expressed the scene I wanted to portray, it was beautiful. It is worth noting that the canvas and art piece itself is relatively thick with a semi hallow backside, its probably around an inch thick at most, everything will be shown in pictures in this review. What I liked most about this whole process, was the constant communication and it went pretty much exactly like how I thought it would.. No unexpected “surprises” which I am not a fan of haha. Overall I am very satisfied with the product!

In conclusion, as I have said this is my third ever review in general I have done and it is once again a resounding success! Nicole has checked almost all the boxes off on how to run a successful business and keep the customer happy! While I would have loved it at a sooner date, it is not too unreasonable considering her busy schedule. She got me the product in a reliable and safe way, asking for my input and showing progress along the way of her making it which I loved! What I received was a masterpiece that truly reflected my blogging theme and style, I wanted it to emit the duality that is my work and I.. It did. I rate this art piece named “Right Hand Of Light And Left Hand Of Darkness” a solid mix of: B+/A or 90%(or higher).

Thank you Nicole, not only for collabing with me but for trusting in me for giving the readers a fair and honest review! I appreciate you putting in the effort you do and you know I cannot wait for us to work again in the next collab and review!

Thank to you again, my friend.

Until next time! :)
